Dawn has been active in the entertainment industry since 1981.

Dawn French Net Worth $10 Million
To begin with, the girl was raised in Wales, but as her father served in Royal Air Force, the family moved from place to place, so the girl was educated at Caistor Grammar School, Spence School and the independent St. Dunstan’s Abbey School in Plymouth. Later, she graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama, where she met Jennifer Saunders, and both joined the collective which would become the leading cabaret of their generation.
Concerning her professional career, French started as a member of The Comic Strip, a merger of comedians which was a part of the alternative comedy scene in England in the early 1980s. In 1987, French and Jennifer Saunders launched the British TV comedy series “French & Saunders” (1987 – 2007), which clearly became extremely popular with the audience. Dawn French has since been involved in the charity project “Comic Relief”, which has also been the highlight of “Red Nose Day”. Together with Jennifer Saunders, she contributed almost every year with new sketches for the shows in England. She has also been represented in various music projects in this context, among others in a charity version of the Beatles “Help!”, French and Saunders as Lananeeneenoonoo sang together with the pop group Bananarama.
French also plays successfully in theatre, and is now and again seen in films. For example, she played the Fat Lady in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004). Her voice is also still known as a synchron spreader in series like “Watership Down” (2000). In 2005, the viewers could hear her voice in the original version of the film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia” in which she voiced Mrs. Beaver. In early 2006, Dawn French, together with Alison Moyet and June Watson, appeared in the black comedy “Smaller”, which had great success not only in the London Lyric Theatre, but also in other British cities. From 1994 to 2007, she played the title role in the British TV comedy sitcom “The Vicar of Dibley”, again to a large audience, then in 2008 she did something completely different and played the Duchess of Crackentorp in Gaetano Donizetti’s opera “La Fille du Regiment” at the Royal Opera House in London.
More recently, in 2016 Dawn worked as an executive producer of the film “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie”, in which she also appeared as the Interviewer. Since 2016, she is starring in the drama series “Delicious” in the role of Gina; more, she is the presenter of the talent show “Little Big Shots” (2017 – present).
Finally, in the personal life of the actress-comedian, in 1980s she met her future husband, stand-up comedian Lenny Henry, with whom she was married from 1984 until 2010 and adopted a daughter. In 2013, she married charity worker Mark Bignell; they are based in Fowey, Cornwall England.
