Kopins made her debut as a guest star in one episode of the television series entitled ‘’The Fall Guy’’ in 1983, and in the next year, she had another television series role, playing Kimba Hall in the pilot episode of ‘’Riptide’’. She remained busy in the mid-1980s, but most importantly had her first silver screen role in 1985, in the drama musical ‘’Fast Forward’’, in which she played Susan Granger. During the same year, Karen had a major role in the film ‘’HeartBeat ‘’, in which she acted alongside Whitney Kershaw and Christine Langner, among others. In 1986, she had another notable movie role in the action adventure film ‘’Jake Speed’’, playing one of the main characters, Margaret Winston; the previously mentioned movie grossed over $1.9 million at the box office. As of the late ‘80s she had many projects, but most importantly, was a guest-star in one episode of ‘’Full House’, a critically acclaimed and popular TV show. In 1988, she had a prominent role in ‘’Dallas’’, a publicly praised drama romance television series, in which she played Kay Lloyd in 13 episodes, overall spending a year working on that project, and afterwards went on to play in ‘’Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again’’ in 1990. Meantime, Karen was cast as one of Charlie’s Angels in the spinoff ‘’Angels ‘88’’, but the series never went to air.
